Kristen
Tryon
Kristen is a "suburban missionary" who has a heart especially for
kids that are hurting or at-risk. She received a BS in Biblical
Studies from Emmanuel College. Having grown up in an active church,
she has been involved in ministry since the 7th grade. Kristen is
passionate about loving kids to Jesus as well as teaching them to
serve HIM and others. She has served as a non-staff preschool
ministry director as well as started several puppet ministry teams.
She has experience in Hispanic ministry, foreign missions, camping
ministry, puppet ministry, drama and clowning ministry, small group
leadership, ministry to the homeless and other outreach programs,
special events and Upward Basketball sports ministry.
Kristen loves to travel and exercise when she is not telling little
ones about Jesus. She also works at Starbucks, and can make a mean
Caramel Macchiato.

We have been
serving these children in ministry for over 6 school years now.
Initially we were bussing them in to a suburban church environment.
We included them in children’s church, Sunday school, Pioneer Clubs,
special seasonal activities, Upward Basketball and Cheerleading,
Performing Arts Camps, Camp Rocks!, and middle school ministries.
We brought them to the church several times weekly and saw
tremendous growth in their lives through the years. It was, however,
difficult to incorporate them fully into a suburban church with
people of different backgrounds. We felt God leading us and pulling
our hearts to work with these kids on a more regular basis. We also
felt the need to GO TO THEM.
We feel God has brought them to the United States and ultimately
to Roswell, Georgia so they could learn of HIS great love for them.

We
have a three phase strategy for raising our at-risk kids to love and
serve Jesus. This strategy is from Jesus’ own words. He said, “You
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem. You will be my witnesses
in all Judea and Samaria. And you will be my witnesses
from one end of the earth to the other.” Acts 1:8b (NIrV)
To reach our Jerusalem we will or have
already:
-
Establish a church for at-risk, unchurched
children in the Roswell area.
-
Establish After School programs to include
Homework Help/Tutoring, enrichment programs, and Bible Clubs.
To reach our Judea/Samaria we will:
To reach One end of the earth to the other
we will:

We believe in one God, eternally existent in
three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17;
Matthew 28:19).
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the
Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true
man (Matthew 1:18-23).
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New
Testaments are verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the
original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith
and life (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe that we were created in the image of
God; that we sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical
death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from
God; and that all human beings are born in sin, and that this
sinful nature is the origin of all sinful acts in thought, word,
and deed (Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Isaiah 59:2-4; Romans
6:23).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for
our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and
substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in him are
justified on the grounds of his shed blood
(Romans 5:8-9).
We believe that all who receive by faith the
Lord Jesus Christ are born again of and indwelt by the Holy
Spirit, and thereby become children of God (John 1:12; Romans
8:9). The person of the Holy Spirit Himself is God’s “gift” to
every Christ-follower at the moment of the New Birth (Acts 2;38;
10:45) and His indwelling creates the new nature within the
believer which produces true sanctification and the development
of spiritual fruit as He graciously equips for service
(Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9, John 5:2-16).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ
and his ascension to Heaven, and in his present work as High
Priest and advocate
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14-16).
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; 1
Thessalonians 4:16-17).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the
just to everlasting blessedness, and the unjust to everlasting
punishment (Acts 24:15; Revelation 20:15; Romans 6:23).
